Chaos, Coffee, and Code Blues

It’s 8:00 AM at our government hospital. The first thing I see? A crowd at the triage desk, each patient convinced their case is the most urgent. Chest pain, trauma, fever — all at once.

As I sip my coffee, the first code blue is announced — a road traffic accident from the bypass road. Two minutes later, a patient comes with a headache for 3 months demanding to see the doctor first.

By 9 AM, we’re running three codes at once: trauma, seizure, and sudden breathlessness. The chaos is real, but so is the adrenaline rush.

Lesson of the Day: In the ER, caffeine and quick thinking are the real lifesavers.
